Winter and Spring Break Camp 2020

Schedule

Camp hours are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday with an hour of Before & After-care available to interested families. Camp is open to children ages 6-13. Children will need to bring a lunch with them from home including a morning and afternoon snack.

Spring

Here is the schedule for the week of SPRING Break Camp:

MONDAY: “All About Animals”

Campers will be doing activities all day to learn about and discover local wildlife. The day will be topped off with a hike through our easygoing nature trail leading to a visit to our famous tree house.

TUESDAY: “High Adventure”

Enjoy an active day of rock climbing at our indoor rock climbing facility. No experience is required to get on the wall and enjoy the climb–climb up any of our 20 or 40 ft walls or keep it closer to the ground in our bouldering cave. All necessary gear will be provided to climb! Complete the day with a quick hike up one of our favorite small local mountains!

WEDNESDAY: “Art in Nature”

The Adirondacks are a magnificent place to explore! Join us as we explore local wooded areas and get inspired in creating different forms of art-sourced directly from nature!

THURSDAY: “Survival”

Campers will have the opportunity to practice building a survival shelter in the woods as well how to safely start a campfire for warmth.

FRIDAY:  “Big Day Out”

Campers will be out for a day long excursion into the woods aiming to summit on of our local mountains.

Details & Rates

  • AGES:  PMOEC Break Camps are open to children ages 6-13.
  • DATES: Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm. Before and After-Care options are available starting at 7:30am and ending at 5:30pm.
  • RATES: $200/ child for the full week.
  • Families will be responsible in dropping off and picking up their child(ren) every day.
  • Households with more than one child qualify for a 10% discount after their 1st registered child.
  • A 2% service fee is added to all credit card transactions.
  • Full payment and registration form required by 04/01/2020
  • 50% of Payment refundable up to 1 week prior to Camp.

  • If we are prohibited from providing the best possible experience, safety and care for your child based on a medical or behavioral concern, we reserve the right to withhold admission or dismiss that child. Please notify us of any such concerns at the outset of the enrollment process.
  • Covid Safety: We will be following all Covid-19 protocols as provided by the Centers for Disease Control and New York State Department of Health. This includes but is not limited to: daily temperature checks upon drop off, washing & sanitizing hands on a regular basis throughout the day, wearing face coverings whenever indoors as well as outdoors if 6 feet distance can not be followed. We will also be asking families to limit potential exposure on their end and self screen for any Covid-19 symptoms.

ABOUT OUTDOOR EDUCATION CENTER

The Outdoor Education Center is located on over 400 acres of land with a beautiful Adirondack lake surrounded by forests, trails and wilderness.

The Center is within an hours drive of the High Peaks Adirondack Region, three miles from Lake Champlain and across the lake from Burlington, VT.

For the past 50 years our mission at the Pok-O-MacCready Outdoor Education Center has been to create and encourage a sense of awe in the presence of nature, to build self confidence, to nurture self worth and to promote teamwork, communication and tolerance for students of all ages.
