Our flagship off-season program (December 27 to January 1st). Campers, both new and returning, travel to camp to connect face-to-face with their summer friends and experience the magic of the Adirondacks in winter. Ski across the frozen pond, go tubing at Blue Boar’s Ski Bowl, summit a local mountain on snow shoes, and spend up to four days downhill skiing or boarding at Whiteface, home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.
It’s Like Summer Camp…
but with more snow!
Campers travel from near and far to experience the unique fun and adventure of Ski Week. We even offer transportation from New York City and Elmsford, just like in the summer! Unlike the summer, campers bring their warmest layers and jackets to brave the Adirondack winter.
Each day is like a Trip Day at camp. We’ll all wake up and have breakfast together, before hopping in camp vans and travelling to one of two destinations. Most campers will go to Whiteface Mountain for skiing and snowboarding with some of their favorite summer counselors.
Whiteface is a great mountain for all levels of skier or snowboarder. Not only are there challenging slopes and a huge terrain park, but the Bear’s Den area provides lessons for beginners who folks who just need a refresher.
Campers also have the choice of going deeper into the Adirondacks for Winter Mountaineering, which is a fancy way of saying we hike in the winter. Adding the elements of cold temps, blowing snow, and more gear makes for a challenging climb and trained staff make sure that campers work their way up from Bare Mountain before they attempt a 4,000 footer. They’ll also get to learn the best way to descend from a peak: butt-sliding!
And of course, all of these adventures are mainly an excuse for campers and staff to renew and expand the friendships they started in the summer. They’ll have as much fun zipping down the mountain as they will hanging out in the lodge playing cards and eating chicken fingers.

And So Much More…
And the fun doesn’t stop when we return to camp. Evening activities include rock climbing at the Crux, board game extravaganza, star gazing, and Skit Night. We’ll even have our own New Year’s Eve party, complete with a ginger ale toast and ball drop!
And after long days of braving the elements, campers and counselors return to the heated dorms of Upper Camp, and get ready to do it all over again!
