SILENCE
a poem by MacCready camper Erika
Of the forest is a scene I beg of and embrace very well,
That of the absence, filled with something more, with a story I love to tell.
One how the air softens and the thoughts slow to a stop to praise,
Where all around shares a part and a place, where none is left astray.
None dares to continue movement during this moment, even I, with a truce with this land.
The same always to occur, windows to my mirror, and the birds have gone still, the trees are quiet, embedded in nature’s essence.
All around me I hear the loud joy that is silence.
