AT LAST!

Mohawk capture Tribal Games, Break 13-year Curse

The Mohawk ended the longest drought in the 62-year history of Tribal games, winning the 2017 championship by a scant two point margin over the three-time defending champion Tuscarora.

“It was great how everyone came over to celebrate with us,” said winning Sachem Willow.  Indeed, the victory was a popular one.  “If it wasn’t going to be us, I’m glad it was the Mohawk,” claimed a member of the runner-up tribe.

Christian becomes the fourth consecutive member of his family, and fifth overall, to be a winning Chief, joining his brother, cousin and uncle. “I felt some pressure about that but mostly about trying to break the 13-year streak,” said Christian, who was visibly emotional about the win. “When they announced us, I didn’t know what to think– the tears just kept coming.”
