The Pok-O Open tennis championships – held Thursday at the Pok-O Plex® sports complex – was changed around for the 2016 tournament:  Instead of singles, it was a doubles event.16_pokoOpen07

“I think it was nice,” voiced Noah G.  “It gave more of an eveness to it because some people, who play tennis a lot, win it every year.  But this allowed us and others to get a chance to win it this year.”

And, in fact, Noah teamed up with Wyatt D to win the best of five set final over James S and Chase.  Both teams came through the round-robin format with identical 6-1 records.  “After the first few games, I thought we had a pretty good chance, because we beat them (James and Chase) earlier.”

Max and Dan M took third place.  All told, 16 players took part (see group photo HERE), with Noah calling the key to victory the fact that “we were both able to work really well together; communication was a big thing, calling for the ball and stuff.”  Plenty of pictures in the gallery below
