As we reported in yesterday’s blog post, the entire boys camp headed into the wilderness Wednesday. The trips included technical climbs (the slide on Grace Peak), other high peaks, smaller hikes, and boat excursions. As usual, the campers and staff showed their flexibility; not every trip completed it’s goal climb, but in those cases, some alternate mountain was climbed.
Here’s what a few of the boys had to say about their trips:
“It was a very nice day, a very beautiful view at the top. It was a bit long but, yeah, it was great.” – Abe
Will: “I was on the Giant hike. It was a bit steep at parts, but it was fun and the view was beautiful. I think everyone had a really nice time and I really enjoyed it.”
Wyatt D: “I was on the Porter hike and we had to go up the Blueberry Mt. instead. It was really small, but it had a really nice view so I think it was worth it.”
Sasha: “It was a nice hike; it took a bit longer than usual because it was hot, but we had plenty of water and good food, including bagels and GORP.”
