Pok-O-MacCready’s 2016 theatrical production, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, opened Friday night to a full house at Robinson Hall.
The musical comedy featured several dozen campers, who worked all year during classes to perfect their parts. Connor S starred in the title role, with Willow playing Charlie. Faye, Nora W, Key and Elly played the other ill-fated golden ticket winners.
Despite a standing ovations, and raves from the audience, one New York Post critic panned the performance. That, coupled with budget restraints, caused the play to close after one performance. None the less, Seigo, who played an Oompa-Loompa, called the experience “a lot of fun; well worth all of the hard work!”
