The Great Tribal Relay Race

Covering several miles, and showcasing skill, speed and strength in running, swimming, boating, cycling and portaging, the co-ed relay race is traditionally held on the final morning of16_triberelay21 Tribal Games.

Braves from each of the tribes are responsible for not only crossing he finish line as quickly as possible, but also remembering, and successfully passing along a 20-word secret message.

In come-from-behind fashion, the Cayuga came in with the fastest time; although less than six minutes separated first, from fifth place.  However, once the messages were judged, first place went to both The Mohawk and Tuscarora, in a tie.

1t- Tuscarora 1t- Mohawk 3- Cayuga 4- Seneca 5- Onondaga

With just one event remaining in tribal games, the race for the championship is very tight!  By request, we will not update the overall standings online until after Wednesday night’s winning announcement, but be assured, it’s still wide open.  (CLICK HERE to see standings entering the day).  History is on the line:  The Tuscarora are going for an unprecedented third consecutive title, while the Mohawk are hoping to snap a 13-year winless streak.
