Sectioning Off

16_section_09While camp is renowned for it’s big games, wilderness and riding programs, and instructional class activities, the kids have as much fun in the more intimate, always creative section activities.

Restricted solely to their own peers, sections put on a wide array of activities.  Last night’s opening section games were proof of that, testing mind (Senior girls scavenger hunt)… body (S.H.L. combine and Intermediate Black Line)… and taste buds (The Lodge took part in the always popular “chocolate game”).

“I’ve been waiting a long time for S.H.L.,” said Peter, a seventh year camper but first time Senior.  “Tryouts went well.  Sometimes I wasn’t able to do as well as I wanted, but the scrimmage was fun.”…

“It was fun,” was Maya’s review of the scavenger hunt.  “Although, we ran up and down the 16_section_11
path a lot.  From MacCready to Pok-O, then MacCready, then Pok-O!  I have no idea how far we ran, but all the other teams had to do it too.”

“Black Line was great,” said Jerry.  “Especially when the senior girls joined in and I got to pummel them with the ball!”

Section activities are held virtually every afternoon for the boys, and most nights for boys and girls.  Check out the gallery for other opening section activity pics.
