Congratulations to camp alumnus Eric Reithel, and his wife Laurel Edwards, for successfully completing a thru-hike of the Appalachian trail!
Beginning in April, in Georgia, the couple pushed north, detouring only a few times. Once, for a U2 concert at Madison Square Garden; another for the wedding of fifth-generation camp alumna Meaghan Swan.
Eric, part of an extended family that boast five Pok-O-MacCready alumni, was a counselor in the 2000’s.
Eric and Laurel met up with injuries, bears, and all varieties of weather prior to finishing atop Maine’s Mt. Katahdin on a gorgeous early September day.
Read all about their adventures from their online blog, which was updated throughout the trip.
Once again, on behalf of Pok-O-MacCready: Great job Eric and Laurel!
