Senior camper Noah M finished his 46 mountains Friday morning on the summit of Phelps. He was joined by a group of friends, as well as his sister and family.
“The best part:,” Noah noted on the day, “was getting to the top and running through tunnel, and seeing my family for the first time in six weeks.”
Here’s a quick video of Noah getting to the top:

After leaving the summit, the group walked back to the trail head and then had a post-hike celebration at a Lake Placid Mexican restaurant. “We had nachos and chicken bites.”Noah’s first 46er mountain was Porter, in 2011, and “right from the start, I knew I liked hiking. Eventually, as I got a little closer, I said “Hey, I can finish!’”
The obligatory baby food slam, a camp 46er finish tradition dating back nearly a quarter-century, was met with mixed reviews by the man of the hour. “It was Apple-Blueberry-Banana flavored. I was not bad, at first, but when I took it away from my lips, I nearly got sick. So, I refused to eat the second one, which was, Split Pea, I think.”
Considering the fact that 46er finishers are really only expected to eat one jar of baby food, check out Noah making the very wise decision to refuse a second jar:
Noah becomes the 384th known camp 46er, with several other campers and staff in line to finish over the next week.
