Cycling Through Classes

Shifting gears from the last class profile, biking is a class for campers seeking thrills, 15class12seeing new parts of camp, and maybe getting a little muddy along the way. The class teaches the basics of mountain biking for those who are less experienced with the activity, but it also lets its veterans play around and bike as much as they want.

A great deal of biking class is actually spent away from camp and the biking headquarters The Hard Rock Bike Shop. On bikes, campers get to see and explore a lot of the trails and roads around camp that capers might never see on foot. New camper Yuri explains how “I really liked going to the Homestead and exploring the trails around there”, which they had done the period before.

“It’s great to see all of the sights when we go out of camp”, explains Sawyer ano mtbikeclass04ther new biker at camp.

Class instructor Blythe Czaja explains how they have plans to go explore Indian Rock and some of the trails up by the Crux rock-climbing center. She also explains, however, that when campers aren’t going out and exploring, they are making their own jumps and obstacles to use in MacCready.   That way the class stays fresh and provides many different types of fun biking.

As Ethan G puts it, “it’s a great way to get into the outdoors”.
