The summer’s second skit night Moonshiner was staged Monday evening in Robinson Hall. Among the highlights were the C.I.T.’s performing “Thriller”; a huge rendition of Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” that included a ukelele quartet; and an impressive tap dancing performance by Sophie L and Eliza P.
As always, the biggest receptions (applause and “high fives” when re-entering the audience) were saved for those campers who had the nerve to take the stage solo, to sing a song. “It’s really scary,” said Kelsey R, who soloed One Republic’s “Counting Stars”. “The last years I was a three-weeker and knew a lot of the people but this, being my first time as a four-weeker, I’m still getting to know the people.”
“I like music; to sing, play drums and tenor saxophone,” said first-time camper Brandon F, who performed his original song, “You”. “The first time (last week’s opening Moonshiner) I was really scared because everyone else was singing with a partner, or as a group. The second time was not as hard. I could definitely do it again; a have a lot of songs in my head.”
