Camp Lincoln scored a solo run in the bottom of the 5th inning to squeeze out a 6-5 victory over Camp Pok-O-Moonshine in inter-camp baseball, Friday afternoon at Lincoln. Along with a 5-0 win earlier in the week, Lincoln took both 2014 contests, involving the older Senior boys..
“This was much better than the first game,” said Adam, who recorded a two-run ground rule double in the bottom of the 3rd inning, which at the time gave Pok-O a 4-1 lead. “Out hitting was much more consistent.”
Joe Z got the offense going with a solo homer to the right field woods in the top of the first. When asked if the hit gave the whole team a much needed boost following Tuesday’s shutout, Joe said, “Yeah.” Joe was also one of a quartet of Pok-O pitchers who held Lincoln in check; he was relieved by Brandon, Dean and Spencer. (Coming tomorrow- a report on the younger boy’s game. See team photo and rosters HERE)
