One week prior to the start of their own competitive horse show schedule, the girls from
Pok-O-MacCready got a chance to witness the best show jumpers in the world taking on the course at the Lake Placid Horse Show.
Todd Minikus, aboard Babalou captured the $75,000 I Love NY Grand Prix, but the MacCready girls were not as impressed with the result, as they were with the total scope of the entire event. “I was flabbergasted! I really couldn’t believe how high those jumps were,” claimed Piper.
Lizzy C traveled to Lake Placid not expecting to be overly impressed, but “It was actually really amazing how they could jump over the fences. Plus, I had a really fun time!”
The girls watched the competition, of course, but also had the chance to tour the stables and see the horses up close. In addition, there were plenty of other things to do, from the food court, to the trade show, and more. “It was great,” said Maya F. “I loved how we could watch the horses, who were really skilled, and also the dog costume contest. So, it was really awesome!”
