Centered, Limber and Relaxed

In what is yoga07believed to be a first in terms of camp activities, the senior girls traveled to a nearby studio Thursday night for a session of Yoga.

Lake Champlain Yoga and Wellness, in Essex NY, played host to the girls for an evening of instructional therapeutic yoga.  “I’d never done this before and it was a lot of fun,” said Jaida.  “It was also relaxing and she put eye pillows on our heads, with real pillow cases.”  Sophie H had fun as well, adding that “it was so relaxing that, by the time we were done, I was very tired!”

Tess has done Yoga before, at home, and liked the fact that “it was funyoga04 doing it here with my friends, and also relaxing.  For some, who had never done it before, it was harder.”  In fact, Michelle Maron, the studio instructor and wellness mentor stated that “despite the fact these girls are in great shape, Yoga can be difficult and it was certainly a challenge for some of them.”

“Before we went,” said senior section head Erin B-K, “they all said they would try it once.  When we were done, they all said they couldn’t wait to do it again!”  The next camp trip to the yoga studio will also include some boy’s camper.
