Pok-O-MacCready’s 2014 wilderness program officially got under way Tuesday morning, as every boy camper headed off on hikes.
The opening day trips range from high peak 46ers, to local boating and climbing excursions around Long Pond. The Advanced Section, Pok-O’s oldest, will also be camping out tonight.
With the temperature expected to hit 90 degrees – quite unusual in the Adirondacks – the hikers will be pacing themselves and drinking plenty of fluids. But the clear sky should yield some gorgeous views from the mountain tops. Stay posted tomorrow for selected trips reports and pictures.
