While Sunday evenings at Pok-O-MacCready are normally reserved for quiet camp congregations with poems, songs and readings, the first Sunday is a notable exception.
Last night’s opening night gathering was designed to both entertain and inform. The entire camp – both boys and girls – attended a skit night put on by the staff. Each section performed an individual act, dramatically profiling a camp rule. Among the rules covered: “Do not go to the waterfront without a staff member; always wear shoes or sandals; do not climb on top of or under cabins; and many more. The rules were presented in the form of comedy, music or cautionary tales.
In addition, campers learned about Pok-O-MacCready’s special programs, riding and wilderness, along with a short camp history and a preview of the 2014 summer calendar.
As you can see in the gallery below, even the kids who are already familiar with the camp rules enjoyed the show!
