The Odyssey

Wise to resolve, and patient to perform”    – Homer13odyssey04

Day #2 of Pok-O-MacCready’s Greek Games – a full day of contests and ceremonies – opened with Tuesday morning’s running of The Odyssey.

The game involves a journey – over land and sea – by city-state members, heroes and scouts.  Argos, which had finished in third in Monday nights Trojan War, took the win in The Odyssey.  “The game went by really quickly,” said Sean T, of the winning team.  “I am so proud that we won!  My favorite event was the human knot.”  Morgan, of Athens enjoyed most “when we were going up Sheep’s Hill with water balloons.”

As for other events, Joe W. stated that “I especially liked the bobbing apples,” and Noah M singled out “The archery task.”  In the end, the game’s best perspectives probably came from Morgan, who added “I was happy that all the other teams did well,” and Jessa D, whose take on the game was this:  “It was fun, because we got second place, and I got to play with lots of friends.”
