The Oracle has deemed Sparta to be the City-State Champion of Pok-O-MacCready’s 2013 Greek Games.
The announcement was made at Tuesday evening’s ceremony at Delphi, following 24 hours of battle and celebration.
Even though three out of the four city-states won events, and rival Troy won two contests, Sparta took the championship thanks to consistent showing in every match. Naturally, the victors are thrilled:
“I don’t have words. When I first joined, I thought we’d be bad, because we’ve never won before. I don’t want to brag, but I’m pretty awesome, and I feel so proud for my team!” – Noah G
“It was really exciting to win, because I am a Mohawk (5th place) during Indian Games.” – Willow
For winning city-state member Adam D, the title was a culmination of a remarkable successful summer that included an Indian Games title, Blue-Gray victory, and a Pok-O Open Championship. “”It’s super awesome. It was just so exciting when the Oracle put out the fire (winning announcement). In both cases- Indian Games and Greek Games – I didn’t know what to expect. I’m so excited!”
In expressing her feelings about the win, Sophie P was not at a loss for superlatives: “Amazing, wonderful and great! Also: Happy, proud and shocked!”
