Back to School

13moreclass06Following a four day mid-summer break, summer camp classes resumed for the full season campers Wednesday morning.  Session #2 campers learned all about the offerings during Tuesday’s Activity Fair before signing up for their new classes.

Virtually all new campers are required to take instructional swimming– at least until they pass out of the class.  “I’m level four,” says Ben, “so I hope to get out soon.  I’m also taking horseback riding, which is great because I love horses and riding; and sailing, where we learned how to assemble (rig) the boats.”

Sailing was also a big hit for Annie C, a seven week camper taking the class for the first time during session #2.  “I went out on a boat with my brother.  We flipped over two times.  Once on purpose and the second time, a surprise.  I was a little scared at first, but then it was fun!”

As always, Rock Climbing class has been a big hit.  “I did it last year and hope to get better this year,” reports Ryan V., while Lily, also in her second summer at camp, is “excited to learn a lot more in rock climbing.”

There are classes for everyone, to the goal oriented, the sports-minded, the water junky and the artist.  Tatym‘s approach to Pottery class embodies a camp-wide philosophy towards class activities:  “What I like about Pottery is that the teacher lets you be creative and do whatever you want.  And, if you want, she’s there to help us.!”
