Soggy Victory

The 24th Senior Hockey League Season (S.H.L.) came to an end Saturday with The Soggy Bow Ties defeating Section 322 by the score of 1-0 in an exciting, tense championship game.

“We hustled the whole time,” said Travis, of the winning squad.  “And you have to have heart to win the game.  I knew we could do it!”

“It was back and forth the whole way,” added Ethan S., “and I was trying to help my team all over.”

James D. scored the game’s lone tally with two minutes remaining in the opening period, and the goaltenders took over from there.  “I knew I wasn’t the best goalie, said winning tender Dylan Bronstein, “but the team did what was needed to be done.”  Jacob Gittler, league commissioner and runner-up goalie said, “They fought hard the whole game and got the chance they needed.”

Next year, the S.H.L., which was created before there was even a rink at Pok-O-MacCready,  will celebrate it’s 25th season.
