Summer Camps

The Pok O Mac camp has a long andinteresting history that dates back to the early 1900's when the Camp Pok O Moonshine first began. At first, the camp was reserved for boys only, and offered a mix of both educational and recreational activities. A lot has changed since the early days of Pok O Moonshine, but the traditional values have remained unchanged, and the summer camp's staff and counselors welcome campers and offer enthusiastic guidance and leadership for the duration of the summer camps. The summer camps offered by Pok O Mac are offered as overnight camps or day camps and the details of each program can be seen on the Pok O Mac website. Many parents feel that that overnight summer camps are great ways to give their child the chance to experience the freedom and independence of spending a few weeks away from home, and since all the summer camps are supervised, parent's minds are at ease, knowing that their children are in good hands. We have trained nurses at all summer camps and as such, we can deal with all medical emergencies or tend to children who are feeling unwell. Pok O Mac's summer camps are situated on the lake campsite in New York's Adirondack Mountains, and children of the summer camps can pick from any of the thirty activities offered which include rockwall climbing, hiking, swimming, boating and fishing and in addition, the summer camps offer campers the chance to explore their passion for acting and creative talents, by way of drawing and painting classes, and the moonshiners, which give the camper the chance to act on stage, either doing a dance or song. The summer camps accept children who are between the ages of 6 and 16, and campers who have experienced the past Pok O Mac summer camps have found that more than being encouraged to pick from the over thirty activities, the camps were the ideal place to form friendships. We feel that summer camps are, however, a lot more than simply having a good time, and we are always ensuring that our children are given guidance and we teach them about their community, and help them to gain a caring and respectful attitude for others and for themselves.


The Pok O Mac summer camps are incredibly diverse and we are always upgrading or adding to our facilities, which has allowed us to remain one of the best summer camps in our region. In terms of sporting facilities, we have tennis courts, basketball courts, a full sized soccer field, volleyball courts, archery and shooting ranges, which are located on the outskirts of the camp for safety reasons.
