Horseback Riding Camps
Horse riding is a pastime which is enjoyed by both adults and children; however, many city-dwelling children are not afforded the chance to experience the freedom and exhalation of horseback riding. Pok O Mac is happy to give children the chance to attend horseback riding camps, and since camps are located on the peaceful lake in New York's Adirondack Mountains, there is certainly no better location for horseback riding camps. The horseback riding facilities which are offered by the Pok O Mac camp include a full jump course, riding rings, horse trailers and we have more than twenty horses and ponies on our site, which means that all campers will be given a chance at riding. However, far more than simply being the best horseback riding camps, we offer several other camp activities, from creative writing classes, hiking, kayaking and arts and crafts. Pok O Mac has been offering horseback riding since 1967 and to this day, Pok O Mac is one of the most favored horseback riding camps. In order to allow our campers to fully enjoy horseback riding, the camps are suited for children of all ages, and we ensure that each rider is given quality instructions, which allow them to improve their equestrian skills, or develop their skills.
Throughout the course of the horseback riding camps, campers are not only limited to horseback riding, but they can take their pick from over thirty camp activities. A highlight of the horseback riding camp is the summer horse shows and each weekend, our riders are given the chance to compete at various shows and events, which are held in close proximity to the camp. We, however, do not simply encourage our riders to compete, but we believe that these shows and events give children the chance to interact with others who have a passion for horseback riding, and at the same time, the children are able to visit new areas. The horseback riding camps also include trail riding and since the camp is situated on the beautiful Adirondack Mountains, we have the perfect location for trail riding and during this time, horse riders are encouraged to explore the wonders of nature and enjoy dozens of miles of trails. Campers can select either a day trail or an overnight trail, which is another highlight of our horseback riding camps.
The horseback riding camps will accept children between the ages of 6 and 16, and previous visitors to the camps have found that the Pok O Mac horseback riding camps have now only given them a chance to enjoy their love of horse riding, but they can also pick from several activities, from fishing, kayaking and hiking. The camp is a great place to form lifelong friendships and bonds, while enjoying a carefree camp life, far removed from the demands and stresses of modern city living. Full details about the horseback riding facilities and activities can be seen on the Pok O Mac website, www.pokomac.com. During the horseback riding camps, we use this opportunity to give children the guidance that they need and we encourage them to learn more about their community, while adopting a caring and respectful attitude toward others, themselves and to animals.
