The fact that we are far more than just a hiking camp, will give campers the chance to explore a number of interests and because each of the classes are given in a relaxed, atmosphere, they are the ideal way for a child to develop their passion. The hiking camp is situated on a serene lake in New York's Adirondack Mountains and during the course of the summer camp, camp visitors will be able to pick from more than thirty various camp activities. The fact that our camp is located in the Adirondack Mountains makes our campsite the perfect spot for a hiking camp and hikers are given the chance to explore the wonders of nature and in the peace and quiet of the great outdoors they can get into touch with their own emotions. As with all the other activities offered at the camp, hiking is offered under the guidance of trained camp counselors who are always concerned about the child's safety.

The hiking camp can accommodate children who are aged between 6 and 16 and those who have visited our camps in previous years have found that the Pok O Mac camps have not only given them the chance to experience several extensive activities, such as fishing, drawing and painting and kayaking the hiking camp has given them the chance to forge lifelong friendships and enjoy a carefree life, which is far removed from the demands of city life. The Pok O Mac camp has a long and fascinating history that dates back to 1905, when the Camp Pok O Moonshine was first founded, and which was a camp strictly for boys. The camp offered the boys the choice of educational and recreational activities and even though the camp have undergone drastic changes since the early years of Pok O Moonshine days, the hiking camp's philosophies have remained unchanged and the counselors and staff of the camps still offer enthusiastic guidance and leadership to all who attend the Pok O Mac hiking camp.
