All alumni and friends are invited to:

 Pok-O-MacCready’s Annual Fall “WOW Weekend”, October 8-10, 2011.

On Saturday, guests are free to enjoy a fall foliage hike around camp, or in the High Peaks.  Also, there will be free indoor climbing as part of the Grand fallfoliage2Reopening of The CRUX.  (Read more here).  The following day will be reserved for a few hours of work projects, while kids can continue to enjoy the Crux, under supervision.  As for the the work projects, camp director Sharp Swan says:

“On Sunday, October 9, we are again planning our fall WOW work day at Camp. Over the years we have made incredible improvements to the appearance of Pok-O. Over the last three years we have painted MacCready's Lodge and the Health Office, as well as polyurethaned the inside of Robinson Dining Hall, painted shingles and cleared plenty of brush.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9th:Just as always, we like to spend Sundays with the Crux Kids Club! We’re celebrating this Sunday’s club a little differently, because all day, KIDS 12 and under CLIMB for FREE! So, if you’ve never been to the Sunday Kids Club,come check it out for free!

MONDAY, OCTOBER 10th:  The storm might be over, but the NorthCountry still has a far way to go in recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Irene. How can you help? All you have to do is climb! The Crux will be donating 100% of the proceeds from today’s sales (including climbing, rentals, and merchandise) to the Adirondack Community Trust’s Flood Recovery Fund. Local businesses have pitched in by donating gift certificates, merchandise, and other items to be raffled off. Bring your friends and join in to help this great cause!
