Dear Swan family.
For some odd reason, today thought about Poko-O-Moonshine, and decided to google you, to see if you still existed, I'm so glad you still do. I don't know if you remember me, Paul Poincot, from Venezuela, went 4 summers (1964-1968) , and hey.... became your best archer then. First time we ( my brother Freddy and I) went, Mrs Swan and the Col. pick us up at the NYC airport and drove us all the way to the camp, during the trip, recall seeing and counting for the first time a 100 wagon train. The 2nd time, we added a friend of mine Luca Bentivoglio. 3rd time, Luca, my stepbrother ( Andrea) and I, and the 4th time just Andrea and me. For some reason, we got to stay longer than the rest of the campers, enjoyed it to the fullest ( freedom ) and the basketball collage trainings. David, do you remember in 1968 waking up at 5 am, because a very ugly smell came about and I guess you did figure out it was my sneakers US Keds placed in the fireplace. By then your Dad ( Jack ) was driving us to the airport )
My best regards to you all.
Paul

My son Jamie (Jim) Smith and I spent the summer of 1976 at camp. I was then Jane Smith and girls' camp nurse. Jim married Jennifer Cohen in 2003 and they are now parents of this lovely child (my granddaughter, Addison).
We have fond memories of our time at camp- Our first granddaughter, Addison turned a year old in September- see attached photo. We just spent a weekend with her and she is SO much fun at 15 months. Hoping this finds all of you well and that we’ll see all of you soon. .Wishing friends and family a joyous holiday and good health and fortune in 2009.
Fond Regards,
Jane Tuttle

Just thought I would drop a note to say HI. I'll say Hi for Jon Holt as well. Unfortunately I see him all the time. Just Kidding. Erin and I are doing well. Erin is the COO of the Being First Corp. doing management system changes and I am an administrator and animal cruelty investigator for the state of Colorado. Robbie just turned 6 and James was 3 in January. Has one hell of a winter. Over 200 inches of snow at my house. Definitely miss Camp just not the bugs and humidity. Doing a lot of climbing and pedaling, business as usual. Going to see Road to Reber on Tues. to ride in Fruita. He is doing great teaching in Parachute.Hope all is well and can't wait to get back for a visit. Say Hi to everyone (if there is anyone left that I know).

Hi, I was a camper in the summer of 1987, I was 9 years old, and had gone to New York from Venezuela with my older brother Luis. I remember Jack Swan picked us up in New York City and took us on the road trip to the camp. I remember clearly when he said to me in a Mcdonald's "you are a very quiet kid!". I also remember Sharpy very well, although he had brown hair at the time and kind of going off to the sides. I clearly remember him announcing during post camp that a cabin that was called the "long cabin?" was to be called from then on the "Spanish cabin" because it was all Spanish kids sleeping there during post camp. Is it still called the Spanish cabin? I also remember going to Marcy; watching the movie Aliens with 10 other kids in the cafeteria at night; going to the Homestead "ghost hunting", I was so scared that I had to leave the place; a casino simulation in the cafeteria with fake bills where I became a millionaire on the dice table (they literally gave me all the bills); a game where all the campers would hide in the forest wearing camouflage and the councilors would hunt us down; sailing, windsurfing, lacrosse, baseball, the dances, etc. It was an unforgettable summer! I'll be sure to send my children when they're old enough. Thanks for the good times!

Dear Poko-McCready,
I return to the beloved Adirondacks from my home in St. Louis usually in March when my significant other has her Spring break. We never get to the camp during that time because we're ensconced at the Loj for the duration. However, several years ago we were visiting Vermont in the summer time and had an opportunity to visit the camp for the first time since perhaps the 95th. It was a wonderful trip down memory lane, and I was extremely touched when, at lunch in the dining hall, Tim Singer welcomed me with a stirring off-the-cuff introduction displaying a remarkable memory of my history at the Camp. The resulting standing ovation by the campers was truly a moving example of the Camp Spirit. THANK YOU Tim, and thank you Poko-McCready for keeping that Spirit alive and well!

Fond fond memories of Sharpie, Tim Teft, Tim Singer, Claire Sherred (what happened to her???), Barbara Resnick, Becca Lockard, Margo Athens...many many more. My brothers Rick, Mike, and Chris all attended Pok-O-Monshine.
Fond memories of vespers, horseshows (I was groom for Smokie, Jessie and several other horses.)
These were the best summers of my life, hands down, no contest. I still have dreams of Camp MacCready today. Can sing both camp songs and have saved my awards and pillowcases (even trophies and ribbons). I have some wonderful photos from those.
Today, I am a mother of 5 daughters I was a nurse for a number of years, but now am a bookkeeper/office manager for a Land clearing company in Newtown, CT.
I would love to hear from anyone who attended camp during those years. (melissahope@aol.com)
Thanks for the memories.

I live outside of San Francisco, in a town called Pacifica, about 10 blocks from the ocean. I moved here almost 13 years ago. I've been a graphic designer/animator my entire career. I'm not married and have no kids. I would love to find some people from camp, Andy Caplan and a few others. I have bumped into Joe Conte and Michelle Lee, both are living here in California. My contact information is jennifer@wanderermedia.com.
My brother Dave is happily married to a wonder woman, has two beautiful kids in Bozeman, Montana. He is running his own business.
Best regards, Jennifer Wanderer

HI Camp Family,
I just wanted to share our happy news of the birth of our son, Samuel Perry Wootten on March 14, 2007. Nora (age 3), Sam (now 9 mos.) and Lucy (golden retriever, age irrelevant)keep life here in Cornwall, VT busy and fun. We are looking forward to more time at camp in the coming years, as our little ones become campers themselves. After a couple of brief visits during summer 2007, Nora keeps talking about camp (that place where we did the beading, fed the horses with Aunt Leah, and went swimming) and she already knows the camp song. I've attached a recent picture of them.
Hope everyone is well.
Love, Dena (Greenman and Matt Wootten)
