While our summer camp runs from late June until mid-August, the camp doors are open to you 365 days a year. Here are some of the programs and events that occur annually at
Pok-O-MacCready:
SKI WEEK
December 27, 2006 – January 1, 2007
SEE PICTURES OF THE 2005 SKI WEEK HERE!
It’s summer camp without the summer! Many of our campers, staff, and even parents reunite for a week of recreation, socializing and celebrating the new year. Campers stay in the heated dormitories of
our year-round facility. There is no shortage of things to do in the beautiful Adirondacks in winter:
- Skiing and snowboarding at Whiteface Mountain, site of the 1980 Winter Olympics.
- Cross-Country Skiing around camp and at world class nordic ski centers.
(Lessons can be provided and arrangements can be made for equipment rental.)
- Sledding, or “tubing” at our own toboggan run, equipped with lights and a rope tow.
- Winter camping and mountaineering - Experienced staff will lead the expeditions.
- Games and activities on our snow covered camp fields
- Evening meals, cards, board games and videos in our modern, heated conference center.
To learn more, or sign-up for Ski Week, please contact us at info@pokomac.com, or by calling (518) 963-7656. Applications will be sent home in
October.

THE PATCH SPRINT
Adventure Race, Trek, Fund Raiser
Memorial Day Weekend
An annual adventure race over the Pok-O Patch mountains. There
are divisions for hard core racers, novice and intermediate runners, volunteers, and trekkers who would like to walk the course. All proceeds go to the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation, which raises funds for
children in need of financial aid to attend camp. Held in conjunction with the semi-annual alumni work weekend, the Patch Sprint also hosts a pre-race pasta supper, a race expo, merchandise, a post-race awards
party and an auction.
Read more about the Patch Sprint here.
THE POK-O-MacCREADY CONFERENCE CENTER
Year-round events
Our modern facility, built in 1999 has already played host to numerous weddings, business retreats, planning conferences and seminars. The Center features a full kitchen;
meal seating for 120; a library/ small meeting room; a television / rec. room and a carpeted living room with fireplace. To inquire about availability, please contact us at director@pmoec.org, or by calling (518) 963-7967.
ALUMNI WORK WEEKENDS
Columbus Day and Memorial Day weekends
This is a time to “give back” to camp, while enjoying oneself in the process. The “long weekend” consists of one day of work (painting, raking, etc.), one day of play, and
evenings spent socializing and “reuniting!” Meals and lodging are provided. If interested, please contact Sharp Swan at director@pokomac.com, or by calling
(518) 963-7656.
VISITS and CAMP TOURS
Should you find yourself in the greater metropolitan Willsboro region, feel free to stop by. Meeting new people, and seeing campers, family, and alumni help to make the long, cold
winter a little bit warmer.
Tours will be given to those interested in learning more about summer camp, the Outdoor Education Center, or any of our other programs and facilities.
If you'd like to come to camp, special arrangements may be
made by contacting Sharp Swan or Dana Beck at (518) 963-POKO (7656), or Dave Durant at (518) 963-7967.
