While our Summer Camp program only runs from June to August, we
host a number of events at Camp throughout the year - don’t miss out on these opportunities to visit camp during the “off-season”. If you think the Adirondacks are beautiful
during the summer, you will absolutely love them in the Fall and Winter!
Camp’s Family Camp
August 18-22, 2010
Finally, summer camp for the
whole family! Alumni, friends, and families gather to relax at our gorgeous lakeside setting and take advantage of all that Pok-O-MacCready has to offer. Our excellent staff leads all
ages in daily scheduled activities from horseback riding to day hiking trips in the High Peaks to archery to fishing contests. A fun evening activity caps a perfect day, ending with a
campfire and camaraderie.

The 46-in-a-Day August 21, 2010
A fundraiser for the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation, the 46-in-a-Day is Pok-O-MacCready’s annual challenge to have a member of the
camp family on top of the 46 peaks over 4000 feet in the Adirondacks all in one day! Hike, donate based on mountains climbed, or better yet, both! Click
here for more information and details and photos from the attempt in 2007!
Ski Week
December 28, 2009 – January 2, 2010
SEE PICTURES OF SKI WEEK HERE!
Thank you to all of the campers and counselors who made this year’s ski week a success! A constant supply of fresh
snow made for a wonderful Whiteface experience. Winter Mountaineers conquered Giant, Algonquin, Dial, and Nippletop, and made a valiant attempt at Street and Nye. Everyone gathered back at the
Pok-O-Queen for hearty dinners prepared by our excellent chef, Aja, and enjoyed games, movies, and tubing in the evenings.
For those who would like to join us this winter for Ski Week, here are some of the activities we offer:
- Skiing and Snowboarding at Whiteface Mountain, site of the 1980 Winter Olympics and greatest vertical east of the
Rockies. (Lessons can be provided and arrangements can be made for equipment rental.)
- Sledding, or “tubing” at our own toboggan run, equipped with lights and a rope tow.
- Cross-Country Skiing on our ski trails around Long Pong and at world class nordic ski centers.
- Winter camping and mountaineering - Experienced staff will lead the expeditions for interested campers.
- Games and activities on our snow-covered camp fields
- Evening meals, fires, cards, board games and videos in the cozy, heated Pok-O-Queen.
