The 1812 Homestead and Farm
Museum, originally constructed as an inn, in 1813, now functions as an Educational Foundation and Museum of Living History. The 130 acre facility, located in the Adirondack Mountains,
adjoins beautiful Long Pond, just 3 miles north of Willsboro NY.
Visitors to the
Homestead enjoy the tactile, “hands-on” experience of early 19th century, rural life. Learn to make a shingle, dip a candle, and cook on the hearth. Consider the particulars of animal husbandry. Discuss gardening, food preservation and sustainability. Enjoy the nature trail, visit the tree house, or sit for a lesson in the one-room schoolhouse. We gather sap in March. Come and help with the sugaring. Step back in time with us.
We’re open to the
public 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Saturday, during the months of May thru September. The facility is also available to school groups, civic organizations, and may be booked
for private functions, during the months September, October, and November, then March, April, and May.
