Long Pond Canoe Trip 7/2 - 7/3/04
All Equipment and food was taken to the camp site with teepee near Indian Rock. Bear Bag went up.
Wood for the fire was gathered from a successful amphibious operation on the senior boys section in complete stealth at peak of rest hour. Wood was also taken to camp site.
From 16:30 - 18:00, paddled toward North End of Long Pond & back, educating the campers a little into better use of canoes.
A camper/counselor decision was made to dress as people of bush tribe & welcome the CIT’s to our native land. Successful peace negotiations accurred following the trade in gifts of firewood for a bag of marshmallows.
A camp fire was lit and all ate well.
Slept under tarp after CIT’s departure -- tent was considered too hot.
After breakfast, returned to Pok-o by 10:30. |
