Senior camper becomes summer’s first Pok-O 46er
WILMINGTON, NY --
Amidst the rain, wind, cold, and loud cheers from fellow campers, Benn Singer, of Pok-O’s Senior Section completed his quest for the Adirondack Forty-Sixers.
Singer, 13 from Arlington, MA, reached the summit of Whiteface Mountain at 1:59:50pm.

The stormy weather in no way impacted a raucous celebration that included the consumption of cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs, french fries, Mountain
Dew, Circus Peanuts, Gummy Bears and baby food.
Joining Singer on the climb were campers Mike English, Brian Feldman, Harry Yerkes, Patrick Dunn, Alex Dunleavy, Jacob Gittler, Alex Pinto,

Lucas Shaffer, Sam Dresser, Jack Kinney. Also, staff members Coleman Blakeslee, Tim Singer and Travis Greenlee, and Singer’s mother, Betsy. A second celebration, at
the base of the mountain, included Benn and Chloe Singer, father and sister of the 46er.
On the summit of Whiteface, Singer was presented with a Forty-Sixer Patch (see above). “Adirondack Forty-Sixer” is the term for both the 46 “high peaks” in
the Adirondacks, as well as for a climber who has ascended all the peaks. Benn Singer becomes the first camp person to acheive the goal in 2004. (see full list)
