Hikes, Bikes, and PSYCH

Tuesday hikes and relays make way for Wednesday’s classes!

WILLSBORO, NY -- The ladies and gentlemen of Pok-O-MacCready took part in some all-camp activities on Tuesday in order to allow the “Pok-O Computer” to churn out 200 unique and tailored class schedules for the first day of classes on Wednesday.

The girls took over the athletic fields for their annual Relays event, during which Camp MacCready campers participate in events such as Dizzy Bat and Helmet, as well as the Egg and Spoon Relay and Chubby Bunny.

The boys were asked to go on the only mandatory trips of the summer on Tuesday.  Trips ventured into the far reaches of the Adirondack region in many different manners.  They ranged from Long Pond fishing trip to Hurricane Mountain, to a hike during which camper climbed three of the 46r’s: Algonquin, Iroquois, and Wright.  Click here to learn more about the Adirondack 46r’s.

The new Terrain Park is across Long Pond from the boys’ camp.

Some boys and girls simply hadn’t had enough excitement by the end of the day, and signed up to go for an evening trip to the Cadyville Mountain Bike Races.  The Cadyville races are a organized by a local riding club, and campers of all ages are able to enter the races and compete using the skills they have learned at Pok-O-MacCready’s brand new Terrain Park.

The all-camp activities and hikes allowed the Pok-O-MacCready Amazing Super Powered Booster Computer to churn churn through 200 class request lists and produce a unique and special class and activity schedule for each camper.  Campers’ class schedules will be posted as soon as the inevitable first-day switches sort themselves out.
