“THE RAIN KEEPS FALLING”

The scene this summer has been soggy, but camp must go on.

The sun issa4 always supposed to be shining in the skies above, but this summer has been quite the monsoon season. Even though it has been extremely rainy this summer, campers are not letting it ruin their summer camp experience. Last night different sections managed to have a good time despite the rain.

Senior boys and girls came together last night in Robinson Hall for a night of Trivia. Everyone was split up into coed teams and needed to work together to win points for their team. The very first challenge was to come up with a team namenate. Nathan Swan explained, “it was hard for us to all agree on a name, but I think ‘The Carnivorous Cows’ was a good choice. Teams had to answer various camp trivia questions and were asked to identify staff members from old camp photos in order to win points. MC Steve Coughlin read the questions and also kept the music going to create a fun trivia atmosphere.

CITs got helpsa9 from Executive Director and resident carpenter Sharp Swan last night while building bridges and walkways for the Senior, Highlander, and CIT sections. “Due to the massive amounts of rain parts of the path have become a muddy mess so we thought this would be a good project that would benefit the entire Outer Limits area,” remarked Colleen Dunn. Adina Shapiro agreed that “it’s nice to know that something you did will help camp even after you are gone.”

CITs took turns working on the bridges and making posters for the Pok-O-Palooza which is a festival with a peace and love vibe. Macky Young commented that “sometimes the rain is good because then you can just chill which is great, because camp can be so busy.” With only one week left to go in the second session, things will only get more hectic with many awesome events happening every day. Campers certainly won’t let a few drops of rain stop them from finishing up the season with a bang.

WATER WATER EVERYWHERE...

With the constant rain this summer the lake has been extremely high, which is good news for all the water babies here at camp.

The high water level has made it easy to dock the boats and campers can row right onto the dock.

“The fishing has been great,” remarked Jamie Kirshner, “but it’s impossible to keep your feet dry.”

The record for the highest water level of the lake is from the summer of 1991. Former Boating Director Ken Ryba remembers when the water reached the stairs of the Master’s Lodge.
