“UNEASY RIDERS”

Campers prove that it’s not that easy to just go along for the ride.

Sometimes it’s easy to get on, but it’s the staying on that is the real challenge. michael1This is true for both Mountain Biking and Riding, and each sport has its challenges when it comes to riding well.

Mountain Biking is well know for its possibilities for danger and injury, but it doesn’t seem to phase the Mountain Bikers here at Pok-O-MacCready. “I know it’s dangerous, but I still want to ride. It’s extreme and that’s what I enjoy the most about it” commented Michael Carragher. Louie Pierestiger agrees, xch3“I do it, because it’s cool.”

Mountain Biking Specialist Chad Martin explained, “It is a dangerous sport if you don’t know your limits, but we are diligent when it comes to the safety. Kids are properly outfitted with the necessary gear to keep them safe. There is a beauty and grace in biking, it’s not all about the thrill.

There is definitely grace and beauty in riding a horse and today advanced riders got a chance to keep their poise while doing some extreme jumping. Riding staff set up a cross-country course that tested riders’ skill and talent.

Montana Machson who has been riding for years found today’s jumping challenging. “It’s easier to make the jumps when your horse will do what you want, but you have to make the horse concentrate and sometimes, you just have to dig in and hang on.”
