Adirondack Mountain
Horse Show - Sunday 27th July
After
waving off their four-weeker friends early Sunday
morning,
ten Pok-O-MacCready riders and six horses headed off to Willow
Hill
Riding Camp to participate in the Adirondack Mountain Horse Show.
Passant Elashram a Highlander camper got the day of to a
great start by collecting three ribbons in the
Walk
Trot class in her first horse show ever.
The next class, Walk Trot Canter, was dominated
by Pok-O-MacCready
riders. Alex Gigantiello and Emily Poirier took Champion and Reserve Champion of the
division riding two Willow Hill ponies, while Brooke Davis and Heidi Taggart took the opportunity to school
two of the advanced horses – Brad and Intruder. Emily and Alex continued to be successful in
the Short Stirrup
division riding Blaze and Jake respectively.
Meanwhile,
in the Hunter Field, Intermediate camper Nicole
Jarck along with CIT campers Colleen Dunn and
Teonna O’Leary, rode in the Novice
Hunter class. Despite not collecting any
ribbons due to the large class size
the three girls rode wonderfully. Next was the Regular Working Hunter Class in
which Isabel Zahn
rode her
horse Brownie to a respectable 3rd
place in the second jumping round.
Advanced rider Blake Artuso collected a
well deserved Reserve Champion on the division,
with enthusiastic support from fellow ADV campers Alex Bridgewater
and Geoffrey
Livsey.
