The last 24 hours at camp have seen a whirlwind of activity as campers have gotten to know each other through a variety of section activities and games. “It’s been totally awesome,” said one Intermediate
boy, “baseball team practice and black line dodgeball both in the same day!” Elsewhere around camp, the Pioneer boys (at right, enjoying a postgame campfire) played their famous game of Steal the Old Man’s Potatoes, and where JoJo Zimmerman made an amazing, complete layout grab of another camper’s flag. The Senior boys began their annual preparations for their Street Hockey League season, and Abrahim Mahallati and Jason Veitch were the two finalists in yesterday’s 44 player knock-out game.
At MacCready, the Lodge girls planted their own garden outside their cabin,
while the Intermediate girls ran relay races and played Getting To Know You Bingo. The Senior girls dashed through the field in a rousing game of British Bulldogs, where the elusive Xylina Robles proved nearly impossible to corral! Meanwhile the Highlanders were busy playing their own spirited version of Duck, Duck, Goose. The C.I.T.’s, among their other activities, also found time to teach a game of “Captain’s Coming” (at left) to a group of younger campers, with Lindsay Kantor and Eleanor Roberts leading the way.
What’s coming up next? Classes start tomorrow, and the first Indian council fire and the first Moonshiner skit night as well!
