Camp Pok-O-MacCready

102nd Annual Parents’ Day – July 15

Camp MacCready:

9:00-11:00am Refreshments at the Pok-O-Queen with Missy and Mimi.

9:00-10:00am Cabin and Section visit to meet counselors and section heads.

10:00-11:00am Campers and their guests may visit activity areas, talk with counselors and enjoy displayed projects and or watch skill demonstrations. Riding will take place in both the barn and upper rings. Check the barn for the location of your child’s teacher.

  • Camp Pok-O-Moonshine:

    • 9:00-10:30am: You will find your children in their morning PARENTS’ DAY Class. Counselors will be available with schedules to point you in the right direction. We encourage you to watch your son participate in his classes but please do not participate yourself. Erik “Zim” Zimmerman will be at the ball field to meet with you.

    10:30am: Social time in each section: A chance to meet your son’s cabin counselor and Section Head, who will be available to answer questions.

    11:00pm: General swim for each boy’s section. Parents may watch, and there will be an opportunity to swim at the Intermediate docks during the afternoon.

  • Both Camps:

    • 9:00 – 11:00: Camp Director Sharp Swan, Admissions Director Dana Beck will be at the “Pok-O Program Paradise” Tent to answer questions and offer special prices on extending your child’s stay this summer, 2006 Family Camp, Ski Week, and reserving space for 2007.

    11:30 -1:30: Jean-Mart open. Shop for Pok-O-MacCready T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, blankets, Frisbees and other cool stuff.

    11:30 1st Annual Pok-O-MacCready Hawaiian Luau! Dining Hall field. We highly encourage parents to stay for good company and good food!

    12:30-3:30pm: Playtime for Parents!  The following facilities will be open, supervised, and available for use: The boating dock (sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, row boating, kayaking and fishing).... The swim docks (swimming, rope swing and slide).... The POK-O PLEX® sports complex (tennis courts, basketball court, hockey rink, HARD ROCK BIKE SHOP® and ball field, space permitting). The 1812 Homestead™ will be open for visits all afternoon. In addition, counselors will be in sections during this time to further discuss the wonderful summer that your child is having.

    • A SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM PARKING AREA TO THE REST OF CAMP FACILITIES WILL BE AVAILABLE ALL DAY

    • BATHROOMS for men and women are located at both camps. Please ask for directions.
    • BEFORE LEAVING camp with your child, please check out with Sharpe Swan, Erik Zimmerman or Missy Livsey.
    • PLEASE BE BACK to Camp MacCready by 7:30pm. Our camp program resumes at 8:00.
    • CANDY, SODA and EXTRA FOOD are not permitted in camp and will be disposed of.
    • THROUGHOUT THE DAY, feel free to stop by the Pok-O Point House or Jack’s house for refreshments and a chat.
