ONE WEEK TO PARENTS DAY

Parents, Alumni, Family and Friends All Welcome

Willsboro, NY-- The warm breezes are blowing... The hula dancers are practicing... Surf’s Up and the fruit drinks are being mixed.

Pok-O-MacCready is preparing for an authentic Hawaiian Luau picnic to celebrate Parents Day, Saturday July 15.

Visiting parents will have the opportunity to see their child in his or her morning class activity and free swim, as well as meet counselors and camp directors. Following the picnic, visitors are invited to “play at camp” with the boat and swim docks, 1812 Homestead and athletic facilities available for your use.

“Last year’s Parents Day and Texas Barbecue was a big hit!” said camp’s admissions Director Dana Beck. “We’re hoping that the Luau will be just as good and we want everyone to stick around for good food and good fun.”

For more details regarding the Parents Day schedule, and lodging considerations, please click on the PARENTS link, or feel free to CONTACT camp.

   See you all next weekend!

FRUIT and FALLS

This past week, campers were able to venture into the Adirondacks for some low impact, high reward, beautiful and tasteful pursuits.

Selected coed groups went on a waterfall trip to the high peaks region and enjoyed not only the scenery, but the coolness on a warm summer day with some gazing and wading at the rapids along Johns Brook and the Bouquet River.

Meantime, the Pioneer section made their annual excursion to a local strawberry farm to pick the best of the crop.

Reports say that each camper had at least as many strawberries in their stomach as they had in their collection boxes. But fear not: Plenty of berries were brought back to camp to be served up for dessert in the near future.
