HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Session #2 Begins with Returning, Remaining and Brand New Campers

LoadedWith Gear “It’s great to be back!”, gushed newly arrived camper Sam Politi. “I’ve already gone swimming and caught a fish.” The Intermediate boys’ camper returns for his 6th summer and is joined by approximately 80 other boys and girls who have come for the three-week session at Pok-O-MacCready. They will be joined by an additional 60 campers who were on hand for session #1, and are remaining for the entire camp season.

The three-week sessions begins very much like the opening four weeks-- the campers takeSwimTest3 part in swim tests (right), nurse checks and an activity fair, where they can hear about, and choose the instructional classes they will be taking. Where the two sessions diverge is in some of the larger all camp events. Current campers can look forward to Casino Night, the Pirate Party, the Pok-O Palooza, The Great Escape, the Greek Festival and, coming up this week, the Civil War. “I’m looking forward to the Battle of Gettysburg,” said Politi.

The underlying feeling for many campers was that of a return to a special place. “It’s good to be back and see my friends,” said Kevin Green, who over the years has attended both sessions at camp. “I just look forward to hanging out with them.” Elizabeth Edwards says that it’s “amazing to come back and find everything the way you left it, and to reunite with old friends.”

Of course, for the new campers, the transition is different. “I haven’t seen much yet, but so far it seems fun,” stated Isabelle Roemesch, who has traveled to camp from Munich, Germany. Another first-timer. Jeffrey Bruha gives his early review of camp: “It’s exciting, fun and entertaining.”

On Wednesday, the first full day of camp will be highlighted with the start of class activities for everyone, as well as wilderness day trips for all of the boy campers.
