KEN RYBA – Wilderness First Year at Camp: 1979

“Kenny” has worked as a counselor, Outdoor Education Instructor and Director of both
the boating and wilderness programs. During the off-season, Kenny is a high school science teacher and recreational home renovator. His wife Marilyn, and their two children Rebecca and
Michael have long been associated with camp. Kenny is 46er # 1661W.
CATHERINE HARRISON - Horseback Riding First Year at Camp: 2003 University
: University of Plymouth Profession: World Traveler
“Cat” will be back in 2008 for her third year as Riding Director. She is incredibly
dedicated to camp, and checks up on our horses all year from around the world! She has spent time in Australia and New Zealand, and is now home in England. Her hard work and organization contributes
to Pok-O’s successful equestrian program.
SHAI WALKER - Swimming First Year at Camp
: 1987 University: Syracuse Profession: Carpenter
Shai has been at camp for nearly his entire life. 2008 will be his seventh year as the
head of the waterfront after serving as a counselor and a section head. In addition to his waterfront duties, Shai, 46er #3914, also serves as the DJ at camp dances, co-produces the camp slide
shows, and can fix anything from computers to plumbing to a broken arm. During the off-season he works for Cloudsplitter Carpentry, is webmaster for Pok-O-MacCready’s Alumni site, and volunteers
for the Willsboro Fire/Ambulance Squad as an EMT.
KELLY SCHIULAZ – Pottery Specialist First Year at Camp: 2006
University: Adelphi Univsersity; Queen’s College Profession: Student
Renowned for her creativity, enthusiasm and easy-going attitude, “Pottery” Kelly makes
the pottery studio the place to be at Pok-O. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Art Education and working as a technical assistant for ceramics at Nassau Community College. She enjoys
spending time with friends and family and relaxing on the beach.
KELLY ZIMMERMAN - Boating Director First Year at Camp: 1990 University: State University of New York Profession: School Counselor
Since her arrival at camp in 1990, Kelly has been an enthusiastic and versatile
contributor. She has served as a counselor, waterfront director, tutor, drama specialist and in 2008 will head up the boating program. Additionally, Kelly’s three children will be campers, her
two sisters and one brother have worked as counselors and section heads, and her parents are among camp’s strongest supporters. Kelly lives in Rochester, NY with her family and a plethora of pets, and is 46er #3511.
MARCY BERNSTEIN- Arts & Crafts First Year at Camp: 2008 University: Parson’s School of Design; SUNY New Paltz Profession: Art Teacher
A teacher at Newburgh Free Academy during the year, Marcy will be lending her
considerable artistic talents to camp this summer. During her free time, Marcy enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and making art of all kinds. Her two children will be campers this summer.
