JACK SWAN - Owner and President: Pok-O-MacCready Camps, Inc. First Year at Camp: 1932 University: Westminster College Profession: Camp Administration
Jack’s energy and passion for camp is unrivaled. Having spent his entire life at Pok-O, Jack has
naturally worked in virtually every capacity. In the past, he also served as a teacher, lecturer and college recruiter.
When not working at, or thinking about camp (which is rare), Jack, 46er #267, can be found buried in a history book. He lives in Willsboro, just across from the 1812 Homestead, another of his major projects.
SHARP SWAN – Executive Director First Year at Camp: 1955 University: Westminster College Profession: Contractor
Sharp enters the 2007 season in his fifth year as Executive Director of Pok-O-MacCready after having
held almost every other position at camp. Sharp is unrivaled in his knowledge of both the Adirondacks and Civil War
battles and lends much of his time in constructing and renovating camp facilities with his other business, Cloudsplitter Carpentry. He and his partner Wendy live in Essex, NY. His 46er number is 566W. 
DANA BECK - Director of Admissions and Recruitment First Year at Camp: 1992 University: Wesleyan University Profession: Marketing
After spending two cold winters in the Adirondacks, Dana is very much looking forward to her fifteenth
summer at camp. A former camper, counselor, section head, and assistant Director of the girls camp, she loves being at the swim docks and running Indian Days as “the White Woman”.
FIONA DUBUSS – Financial Director First Year at Camp: 1994 University: Lehigh University Profession: Administration
After spending four summers as a camper, two as a counselor, and one as a section head, Fiona made
the switch to office personnel in the fall of 2005. Her organization and soothing phone voice make the Pok-O
-MacCready office run like clockwork. Fiona finished her 46 at the end of the summer in 2006 and is #5854 and enjoys
(and excels at) Scrabble, darts, and rock-paper-scissors.
TIM SINGER – Programming and Webmaster
First Year at Camp: 1967 University: State University of New York, Plattsburgh Profession: Journalist
“Skip” first came to camp in 1967. He has served camp in many different areas: camper, counselor,
section head, program director, and close advisor. In 2003 Tim was responsible for the creation of the Pok-O
-MacCready web page. He lives in Shelburne, Vermont with his wife Augusta. When not at camp, you can often see
Skip on television reporting sporting events for ESPN, Outdoor Life and various other networks. He is 46er # 1038.
DAVID DURANT- Outdoor Education Director; Asst. Head of Pok-O-Moonshine First Year at Camp: 1990 University: McGill University Profession: Pok-O-MacCready Outdoor Education Center
Long an incredibly dedicated and enthusiastic camper, counselor and section head, Dave is in his second season as the Director for Pok-O-MacCready’s Outdoor Education Center, camp’s off-season use. Dave’s varied interests include studying history, talking about ice climbing in Patagonia and hitchhiking in Europe, and volunteering with the Willsboro Ambulance Squad. Dave is 46er #4095.
DAVID SWAN – Partner and Consultant First Year at Camp: 1960 University: Westminster College Profession: Immigration
While not active in the year-round operations, David continues to advise and consult. After spending his childhood as a
camper, Dave served as a counselor, section head and helped to devise our three-week and day camper programs. He
lives with his wife Angela and their two children in Chazy, NY. Dave is 46er #1959. David is safely back home after serving in Iraq as a tank commander.
MARGARET SWAN REINCKENS – Partner and Consultant First Year at Camp: 1953 Profession: Camp Administration
After spending her first 16 years growing up at a “boys only” camp, Margaret was delighted when Pok-O-MacCready
became co-ed in 1967. Thereafter, she worked as a staff member and later, at the 1812 Homestead. From 1999 to
2004, Margaret headed up the finance and organization of camp. Her three sons and one daughter have attended, and worked for camp.
LAUREN SWAN – Accreditation and Certification
First Year at Camp: 1987 University: State University of New York, Binghamton, New England School of Law Profession: Attorney
Another “behind the scenes” staff member, Lauren works with the American Camping Association and
the New York State Department of Health to insure that we meet all of the necessary standards of health and safety for
our campers, staff and facilities. Lauren is a former camper, counselor and section head. Lauren currently serves as the Assistant District Attorney for Ulster County, NY.
DEVIN WINTER – Outdoor Education Assistant Director First Year at Camp: 2007 University:
Delaware Profession: Outdoor Educator
A year-round employee of Pok-O-MacCready’s Outdoor Education Center, Devin will be on hand for the last three
weeks of camp to prepare for the off-season and help lead trips. She has conquered 20 of the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondacks in only 8 months and showed off her cross-country skiing skills at the Ladies Olympic 5K Trail this winter.

ERIK ZIMMERMAN - Headmaster of Pok-O-Moonshine
First Year at Camp: 1978 University: Hobart College Profession: School Teacher
“Zim” first came to camp as a ten-year old in 1978. He was a counselor, then Assistant Headmaster
and Sports Director. In 1996 he married former MacCready counselor Kelly Daley. They have three children. During
the off-season he is an eighth grade English teacher and basketball coach in Fairport, New York. His 46er number is 2558. 2007 will be Zim’s 7th consecutive summer serving as Pok-O Headmaster..
MELISSA LIVSEY - Head of Camp MacCready First Year at Camp: 1982 University: Maine Profession: School Teacher and Coach
“Missy” returns to head up the girl’s camp for the first four weeks, a role she has held for over 10 years
. Missy, 46er #4494, has three stellar children, two of whom will accompany her on staff in 2007. She lives in Austin,
TX which explains her inability to cope with “cold” Adirondack nights. In 2005 she received the high honor of having a camp cabin named after her.
CINDY WATSON - Head of Camp MacCready First Year at Camp: 1980 University: Southern Connecticut, State University of New York Profession: School Teacher
Cindy will return in 2006 to run Camp MacCready for the last three weeks for her second summer. Previously, she served as counselor, section head, head of arts and crafts, assistant head of the girl’s camp, as well as the Director of the Pok-O-MacCready Outdoor Education Center. During the off-season, she is a third-grade teacher in the Corning-Painted Post School District, NY, where she lives with her husband Jim and three children. Cindy is also a
composer of children’s songs. She is 46er #2058.
SARAH DISNEY – Assistant Head of the Girls Camp First Year at Camp: 1975
After a four-year hiatus, Sarah is back as MacCready’s Assistant Director, a position she held under Missy Livsey for
many years. Sarah has had almost every job at camp and even met her husband while working at the Outdoor
Education Center. Her three daughters, Cecilia, Alexandra, and Elizabeth, are delighted she’ll be on staff with them this summer!
