The POK-O-MacCREADY 46-IN-A-DAY event takes place each year during the annual Family Camp session in August.
The event hopes to place a member of the camp family on top of each of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks during the same calendar date.
- Members of the camp family- campers, parents, alumni and staff- are encouraged to take part.
- Interested participants may hike, volunteer or simply make a donation in support of the 46-in-a-Day.
- Participants in the “46-in-a-day” event are eligible for free bunkhouse lodging at Pok-O-MacCready Camps on Friday, August 22. Likewise, participants will be offered a drop-in early buffet breakfast on Saturday morning, and are welcome to join the celebratory Bar-B-Q at Camp MacCready Friday night.
- Registration for Family Camp opens in June. Hikes will be awarded on a “first come, first serve” basis. However, anyone who would like to take part is welcome to register and join in; there is room for plenty of hikers per trip.
- Five times in the past, the Pok-O-MacCready family has endeavored to climb all 46 in a single day, succeeding in that quest in 1992, while just missing out in 1990, 1991, 2002, 2006 and 2007. (See listing of past attempts here)
